AD MORTEM INIMICUS!
"Death to the Enemy!" Sons of noble birth, the knights of 12th and 13th century Europe were the kings of the battlefield. Heavily armed and armored, few could stand in their way. Vassal to a lord, each was paid for their service through land and other riches handed down to them by their liege via the feudal system. Each knight practiced constantly to become a master of arms and horses while holding elite ranks in medieval society. Eventually, the adoption of colored banners, shields, and surcoats led to the rise of heraldry. The ideals of chivalry (though rarely met) were the morality of the day as embodied by this warrior elite.

This hard plastic box set allows you to build up to 24-foot knights with a wide variety of weapons, including an axe, falchion, spear, mace, and, of course, the ubiquitous and iconic arming sword. Various heads and shields allow for even more customization, and parts can be combined with the other sets in the range.

This is the first in a new range - The Age of Chivalry - that will soon include Sergeants, Levy, and cavalry sets.

Small But Fierce

I'm going to get this out of the way, as I see it as a sticking point for some folks. I love this new kit even if they are on the smaller side. As a wargamer, I'm used to the ever-inflating "28mm Heroic scale" which nowadays is closer to 32mm. However, these are closer to historic scale with very realistic proportions. Some games may find this to be a downside, but I appreciate how it adds diversity to my collection.

I really like all the options the kit provides. The details are nice and crisp without being over-detailed or busy. Everything fits together well. I don't have any Footsore Baron's War models to compare, but these plastic foot knights seem to match the photos of Footsore's metal line flawlessly.

This is another great WGA plastic kit that meets my hobby needs without breaking the bank and I eagerly await what else is coming out for this particular line.

Yeah I'm really glad I preordered these

These are basically as great as they look on the box, the casting is quality with no defects and the details/textures are sharp and easy to paint. The sprues are packed full of options and it's really easy to pick and match to build really characterful little guys, as a standalone kit it's a really strong offering with tons of options so that the 24 guys (that's quite a lot innit) you can build here will have almost zero repeats.

It is worth saying that these guys are quite small, I don't know what other medieval offerings for that time period are like but I know at least that converting might be just a little awkward sometimes, if anything you're definitely not gonna be able to mix parts with Heroic Scale stuff.

Kit was good

The kit was fun to build and tinker with, models are a bit small which makes kitbashing awkward but not impossible by any meaning in the word, overall good purchase.

A few good men.

Great looking figures, but 24 per box. Takes quite a few boxes for that to come out even for rank and file games. It’s a first world complaint. Keep making figures and I’ll keep buying them.
